Alright, first off if people have time for a 4.4megabyte download please right click and select “Save As” on the following link to the Iceberg Season 1 credits.

It’s not finished yet, but what can I say, I have too much time on my hands

Next order of business… Veterans from the old RPG, head count please? Any of you staying on? If you are, do you want to keep your current character or quickly change to a different one?

Next, new players? I’d like to welcome Akaras to our ranks. Let’s all give him a big iceberg style welcome

Anyone else who wants to join? Just post bellow. We’re like a normal RPG except in the case of combat where we have some rules to make it a little more interesting. Put bluntly, your character won’t always win, most likely will come out of this with at least a broken limb and some might even die. (As in die die. But you as a player can always “respawn” with another character.” Rules are found here:

http://www.anzwers.org/free/ilphi/

They should be pretty easy to crack for anyone really, but they are certainly not essential to know. I’ll tell you when your character gets kicked or hurt in lamens terms, so you don’t have to understand them to get along.

Speaking of the rules that is the temporary hold up. I’m trying to keep the rules as easy as possibly BUT flexible enough so that you feel you have a choice in some situations. I’m currently working on the air combat rules (as that is where we left off).

What am I thinking right now? Well, there will be a formulae for close combat fighting that will involve a PILOT SKILL point. This means it’s good to dedicate a pilot to pick up that experience.

At closer ranges… I’m thinking a game of battleships.

No, don’t look at me like that. It came to me in a dream. Or something. But how would you feel about playing a game of battleships until the ships move to close ranges (less than one light second for the techy)? It will pretty be normal battleships but with missile variants which might have blast radius and things. You might also be able to send in drones to “reveal” areas of the grid.

Thoughts?

And more importantly, what did you think of the last one?

Welcome AKARAS!!!! Cone on, the the Resistance is fiiiinne!

Silent Running ( Our Theme Song? yes /no?)
Take the children and yourself
And hide out in the cellar
By now the fighting will be close at hand
Don't believe the church and state
And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I'm with the high command
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
There's a gun and ammunition
Just inside the doorway
Use it only in emergency
Better you should pray to God
The Father and the Spirit
Will guide you and protect you from up here
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
(Oh, can you hear me running?)
Can you hear me (can you hear me?), can you hear me running?
(Hear me calling, calling...)
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
(Oh can you hear, can you hear me calling?)
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?

Woo Hoo, Freddy here, currently at tactical on the Frigate. Frozen in time waiting to kick some alien butt. Small, blond, human - public profile is a seeker out of 'things', privately he is something else entirely.

Welcome Akaras - hope you enjoy the game.

Can't wait to get started again, just going to check out the download.

I'm sure that Ilphi has probably already told you this, but I would suggest reading what we've already accomplished so far. It's a really good read, and as much as I hate to brag, the JP's between Shalamar and myself are some of the best work I've done.

Then from that, I'd start running a character through your mind, and see where you'd like to place him in the story. How he's going to meet up with either of the two teams of characters currently split off. Once you got that going in your head, just take it from there, and let the story flow from you. It's a good story, and I can't wait to continue it.

It's not massivly appropriate for the lyrics, I just like the song Here's the lyrics:

Quote:

Ever felt away with me
Just once that all I need
Entwined in finding you one day

Ever felt away without me
My love, it lies so deep
Ever dream of me

Would you do it with me
Heal the scars and change the stars
Would you do it for me
Turn loose the heaven within

I'd take you away
Castaway on a lonely day
Bosom for a teary cheek
My song can but borrow your grace

Come out, come out wherever you are
So lost in your sea
Give in, give in for my touch
For my taste for my lust

Your beauty cascaded on me
In this white night fantasy

Not too appropriate, I agree I downloaded (sorry, that should read "Legally Aquired" ) your song and the lyircs are perfect, but the song's a little slow to really fit on a video (that's already 4 megs after only 1min )

If you like the style on the video's music, have a look over the lyrics to a song called "10th Man Down" by the same band. A lot more appropriate, I think you'll agree:

Quote:

Today I killed, he was just a boy
Eight before him, I knew them all
In the fields a dying oath:
I´d kill them all to save my own

Cut me free, Bleed with me, Oh no
One by one, We will fall, down down
Pull the plug, End the pain, Run´n fight for life
Hold on tight, this ain´t my fight

Deliver me from this war
It´s not for me it´s because of you
Devil´s instant my eternity
Obey to kill to save yourself

Cut me free...

"I envy the 9 lives that gave me hell
My path made up by their torn bodies
Man to man, soldier to soldier, dust to dust
Call me a coward but I can´t take it anymore"

They wait for me back home
The live with eyes turned away
They were the first ones to see
They are the last ones to bleed

"The ultimate high as all beautiful dies
A ruler´s tool, priest´s excuse, tyrant´s delight...
I alone, the great white hunter
I´ll march till the dawn brings me rest
10th patriot at the gallow´s pole!"

Cut me free...

I think that is very appropriate

But honestly, how do people feel about playing a game of advanced battleships?

Glad to have you aboard

I think i sent Tio a copy of 10th Man Down a while back, it was the song you said you could imagine fighting with a force lance too?

Shal... I made a new file with the "Can you hear me running" theme? Even with poor quality images unfortunatly it's 6.4 megs! Sorry, nothing I can do about it really.

www.games-realm.com/icebergseason1.mpg

Its got the new song, a bit longer, its completed (IE it has a proper ending!) and I played around with Studio 8 and found a rather run transition effect that I used after the first frame. Let's see what you think

One for the masses... I agree with RommieSG when he said that the first thread was a very high quality of writing. Is everyone okay to archive it for the site which is due something of an overhaul?

Archiving it would be good. You certainly have my permission. You'll have to tell me about this program of yours. Perhaps I can put something together about Devon. Plus, anyone know where I can find an mp3 of the Firefly Theme?

Archiving is fine by me. Managed to download the original video haven't tried the new one yet.

Try WinMX for the Firefly theme, I am currently downloading episodes from there. What a crime that show was axed. Are Fox mad? Don't answer that.

I can't wait for the game to start again, I've missed it, even though I do 12 other rp
