Hi folks! You may have noticed that since we got our new software/upgrade, I haven't been opening new threads for the various RP's. That's because that action is no longer required. The new software has no difficulty managing threads of any length, and since each of you can set your pagination to whatever you wish...pages loading at your end are also not a problem no matter how long the thread gets. Unless there is an important reason to begin a new thread for the same RP, in which case I would appreciate it if you would email me so I understand why...please refrain from doing so unless TPTB inform us differently. Thanks everyone - game on! NJ |

I have a question as to when is the appropriate time to start a new thread? I think the main reason we started new ones is because we were starting a basically new storyline and wanted to draw attention to it. Also, how many pages does the software support or is there a max number of pages we can agree on at which we can make a new thread? |

Hi XTyr To answer your questions - there is no maximum re thread size that we have to worry about. The software can support any thread length whatsoever, and thus an RP can go on within one thread until it's completion. This will greatly reduce the previous clutter of the various forums for threads whose subjects/premise really don't change. Now, if a major story/plot-line is wrapping up...then the thread should be closed. When the GM is ready to begin again with a completely new story line (but using the same setting/characters, etc.), a new thread would be started (with the new story title indicated in the title of the thread). Obviously, new threads will be started when an entirely new RP is begun and/or Character Interaction Threads are begun to bridge the gap between stories for RP players, etc. NJ |
