Celeste paced restlessly, time moved very slowly on the planet, to slowly for her liking. Herakles wasn't exactly a stimulating conversationalist, and there were only so many times she could 'virtual' paint her nails.

She tried to whistle a happy tune, then remembered that she couldn't whistle. She sat down and counted the seconds as they crawled by

James looked over the reports of the supplies and repair needs. The bridge crew was well trained and he was just guy they had to work thru to get things done.
He looked over at the security report on the Celeste. A very interesting report nothing in could be confirmed but if a quarter was accurate,"Big If" he though to himself, She was just the sort of expert he might need for this job. He sent a message back telling the Intell peopel. "Find me a way to make a deal with this woman."

Graynes looked over the latest report from Graynes. The young man was doing a great job getting the JMT ready. He finished the report and called one of the ensigns tanding nearby over.

James is asking meto see if this Celeste will help his team. Please locate her and ask here to meet me here.

"Yes sir!"

Graynes watched the young ensign dart off.

Celeste looked up at the sound of footsteps, she smiled

“At last …..company”

Her smile faded when she saw the ensign

“What do you want? ….Graynes wishes to see me…who the frell is Graynes and why does he want to see me?”

When no amount of questioning would elicit any further information from the ensign , she sighed

“Fine lead the way…….. Herakles re-activate internal sensors, if we have any unexpected visitors while I’m away….shoot them!”

Daveed watched the Trancer nurse move about the surgical suite with quiet competence. He was glad that she was here, he had been dreading the thought of doing the surgery alone.

The Trancer personell had come aboard two hours ago, the Nietzscheans an hour later. He had welcomed each group aboard with a brief talk, and then turned them over to the WayFarer's surviving crew for quarters and crew roster assignments.

Twilight Rain looked up from his study of the cloneing chamber, and spoke happily..."The sensors show that the heart is perfect, and ready for implantation."

The other Ruby Than than looked up from inspecting the anesthetized form of his Captain..."She is ready now, and we do not have long."

Daveed nodded as he took his place at the operating table, the nurse across from him. With one sure cut of his laser scalpel he made the first incision.

Hours later, he packed the thoratic cavity with nanite infused quick heal foam, and sealed the incision. He nodded at the anestheologist to flush her systen with counter agent, so that her own nanites would reactivate.

"Twilight would you watch her in recovery?"...Daveed requested as the Captain was floated to the recovery room.

He caught the nurse, who had assisted great capability, looking at some of the equipment stored in the bay next to the surgical suite.

"Yes, Ms. Kianna, it is all specifically designed for the removal of Magog larva. The WayFarer hunts Magog. We have had to deal with infestations numerous times."

"But Magog can develope beyond removable stage so quickly." She protested.

Daveed smiled grimly "That is why we have so many stasis tubes, and we have developed substances that inhibit their growth. Twilight Rain developed a nanobot that that attacks the larva, as well."

The Drop Ship, Infantry was old, slow, and didn't have a slipdrive or an AI core. All ships functions had to be taken care of by the crew, which was headed up by a crusty old Master Chief. The old ship may not have been the prettiest ship in the Trancer fleet, but she was built like a rock. And her crew took pride in making certain that every line was in place and every hatch dogged just so.

"Spirit's Wrath, this is DSI-11240, please come in."

"Forget it, sir. She's not answering. Either there's no one left to answer, or her comm system is down," said the Master Chief Quartermaster at the conn of the drop ship said to the commander of the Trancer Marine platoon that was embarked.

"Is there anything we can do to contact them?"

"No, sir, other than to dock and board her."

"Damn." The Marine lieutenant pounded on the console of the old drop ship as they made their way slowly toward the stricken ship.

The old Trancer chuckled to himself. "We'll be there soon enough, Lieutenant. Just a few more minutes now."

A few more minutes, the Lieutenant thought to himself, A few more minutes and they might all be dead...

Graynes turned as the ensign returned with Celeste. He had just finished reading the report on the young Niet and was glad that he wore his tail inside his uniform. He nodded a greeting as she stopped in front of him. His expression remained businesslike as he spoke.

Thank you for coming. I am General Graynes, Trancer Military Commander . I’ll cut to the chase since I know we both have no time for idle chat. My Special Ops commander seems to think that you have a lot to offer his team and that I should make a deal with you for him. When James suggests something, I have learned to listen to him. Of course, I have checked the intel-report on you and I agree with his assessment. I understand the look of shock on your face, a Trancer asking a Niet to help out. Well, one thing I have learned from LoP is to put such prejudices behind me. He has many Nietzcheans in his cabinet, most hold a high position and every one of them are dedicated and an asset to all of us. It’s a lesson I wish more from both of our races would learn.

I’m not sure what kind of “deal” is needed to enlist your assistance, but I have the authority to make anything within reason happen. Your position would be as an advisor to the Special Ops team. Now, before we discuss any “deals”, are there any questions you have?

Graynes locked his eyes onto Celeste’s as he waited for her reply. His expression still neutral and in control.

Celeste studied the man in front of her, she had learnt to take nothing for granted on this planet. She circled him warily, when she was satisfied that he was tail free she relaxed

"General Graynes, I appreciate the direct approach, although all this talk of 'deals' bothers me"

She smiled

" 'advisor to the Special Ops team', it has a certain 'ring' to it! in fact...I like it.... I accept"

Seeing the look of surprise on his face, she laughed

"General, you've read the intel-report, you know that since the Archdukes departure I have nowhere to go, no mission...no purpose. Suffice to say I can't go home, so your offer suits me....for the moment. I ask only one thing....that I be allowed to leave this planet as and when I choose...until then you can be assured I will do everything in my power to assist James, his team and your race as a whole.....but I must tell you that I have a .....problem with tails! Although I will do my utmost to curb my ......phobia.

Oh and General, my ship....it must remain out of bounds for all Trancers, my ship....he has been programmed to.....well let's just say it would be safer if no-one attempted to board him!"

Graynes pushed his surprise back, LoP had warned him to be surprised often while dealing with other races. He took the ID card from the ensign standing nearby who had programmed it. He handed it to Celeste.

This ID card will give you access to most areas of the planet. It will also allow you to enter and leave the flight deck without a guard. If James says you're okay, I believe him. I wouldn't worry about James and his deal talk, it's his way.

Of course you can come and go as you please, just be sure to stay away from any restricted areas you might happen on. We don't have many, but EnTranced is pretty strict about the ones we do have.

I am putting a shuttle at your disposal so you can get around faster without your ship wanting to destroy us. Graynes smiled slightly as he went on. I will log your ship as off limits until further notice. No one will enter without your permission. But be aware, there will be Trancers working nearby so I hope your AI knows that. I would hate to loose anyone because of a mistake.

James is in orbit on the JMT and your shuttle is waiting to take you there. I have assigned a human pilot to you.

By the way...welcome to Kroyous.

Graynes reached out to shake Celeste's hand.

Celeste took the Generals hand and shook it vigorously

"Thank you General, for your trust and for having the foresight to assign me a human pilot!"

She looked at the ID card and smiled

"it feels good to have a purpose again, I hope I can live up to James's expectations! and your workers have nothing to fear from Herakles, as long as they stay out of his way...he's never been much of a people person. It's been a pleasure doing business with you General...now I'd better be on my way, I have a job to do"

She made her way to the flight deck, eager to begin her new duties

Graynes watched Celeste leave then turned back to the Comm Officer.

I need a status on Josh's ship. Have the marines arrived yet? Graynes frowned at the ensigns negative reply. Order the cruiser Singularity to move within firing range and to standby for further orders.

The Magog must have control. If the marines couldn't regain control of the ship, it would have to be destroyed.

Come on Josh and Jon, take your ship back! He said to himself.

Daveed was at his Capatins bedside as she came to consciousness.Already her nanites had healed the incision, but the breast bone would take a few hours longer. The weight her body had lost, burned up in the unconscious struggle to boost her metabolism past the stasis would take even longer.

Perigryne's hand came up and gripped his with astonishing strength. "How ...How many survived...: Her voice dry and harsh, barely more than a whisper.

He knew she knew the answer to that, but needed to hear it spoken. His eyes were sad as he shook his head slightly and replied..."Only those outside the WayFarer...and the child you carry is safe."...

He answered her second question before she could ask. His assistants had filled him in on the events that had occured since he had been on leave. Daveed was worried about his half sister mind state. She had met, married, and lost her mate...and now her crew, that had been family for many years.

Perigryne looked up at his worried face and knew just what he was thinking...."Help me sit up, and give me a report on our current status." Her tone brooked no arguement, and he propped her up with several thick pillows.

He briefed her thoroughly and she sat silent for many minutes, wieghing options, planing.
There was no time for mourning now. She had strange Nietzscheans on board her ship, and the others of her skeleton crew, while she trusted the Trancers more than the Niets. were unknown factors.

"Daveed, I need to contact General Graynes, and reassure him of our status, and thank him for the loan of the crew. We also need to get Luna reloaded into her A.I., if the Wayfarer is to be even marginally effective."

Daveed knew his Captain well and had a fresh uniform waiting. He still hoped to get her to remain is a grav chair for atleast a few hours, but he doubted that given then circumstances that she would agree.

James saw the shuttle with Celeste was on it's way up. He had the opertunity to see to her housing. He put her in the BOQ on deck 4 as they had their own cleaning system so she would not have to shower with any of the female personel.

Doug sent word the the wounded were getting finished with the surgeon. His team had lost eight people out of the twenty it started with he set the computer to check for replacements and requests for unattached personel to be forwarded.

Outside of maybe EnTrances personel guard, and James was not willing to say he could not say his team could not beat them,He had the nearly first call for the replacements.

He forwarded his reports and requests to fleet command. He then turned to fleet action reports. He saw that Josh's ship was till being contested. "Damn" he thought "My guys are to banged up to go get that ship."
he said under his breath. He waited as he knew that Graynes would be ordering him most likey to distroy that ship if they could not recapture it.

As Celeste caught sight of the JMT she whistled appreciatively

"Now that is a beautiful ship...I just know I'm going to like working onboard"

She sent a brief message to James

"Your latest advisor to the Special Ops team reporting for duty, Sir"

James was awaiting FLEETCOM's orders when Celeste's message appeared on the side on the screen. "Officer of the Deck send a non trancer down to escort The new advisor to her quarters and let her know I will be busy here for a few more hours. I would like to see her opinion of a the data I am sending her tomorrow but would like for her to meet with the team in four hours. I know Doug can handle the meeting so if I am not there tell him to handle the meeting and send me the report." he ordered. He turned to the tac screens the marines that had been sent from ground station were nearly ready to board.

He wanted to move for an optimium firing position. He knew Grayes must be pulling hairs about this and he understood why. That was testbed of a lot of local industry. If it worked it would be a sign that the trancers were a little less dependant on outside tech.

Knowing FLEETCOM was going in circle s about the cruiser James ordered Weaps to start running drills on what attack patterns to use to take out that ship both best and worse case and get his teams up to speed. He was in command so he wanted to be ready to do the job when the orders came down.

Josh was going toneed to save his ship or the Marines were going to because James was confident that he would be the guy who would be cleaning this up if they failed. James paused and looked at himself in a reflective surfaces the soldier was there ready to do his duty. His blue eyes were just as cold as he rememebred and the military styled hair was kept short dark brown and not showing grey he laughed inside "With all that has happened I feel seventy rather than twenty six." but the fire was there now just waiting for the starters gun.

Graynes nodded at Tioki.

Thank you. Please try to find EnTranced and tell him that the JMT is almost ready to break orbit.

He knew it might take awhile since EnTranced and Siobhan had suddenly come up missing through all of the excitment. He walked over to a window and looked skyward.

LoP, where are you? He asked the uncaring stars.

Perigryne strode on the the bridge, glad of the painkiller cocktail that Daveed had administered.

Several of her new crew began to stand at her entrance, but she waved them back..."Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen, but that is not necessary. What is is a department by department report."

She listened to their status reports with quiet satifaction. The remains of her crew were holding up thru their grief, and the Trancers were highly professional. The Nietzscheans had been her instant worry once Daveed reported his actions. However these were proving to be exceptionally flexible. She thanked her bridge crew for their efforts and took the Command chair.

"Communications,..." She adressed the pink haired Trancer Lieutenant..."Please arrange me an open line to General Graynes. We need to advise him of our status."

The young Trancer smiled and nodded and began effeciently operating a board that was disctinctly not common aboard any starship she had ever seen.

"Captain, the Spirits Wrath has taken sever damage, and may be in Magog control...Is there not some aid we may render?" Luna querried softly from her place at Perigrynes side. "I know we must attempt my reintegration first, but once that is done I will be inposition to take over all repair efforts, freeing much of our temporary crew."

Perigryne looked at Luna and nodded...All aboard the WayFarer hated Magog with a passion, the A.I. included.

"We will offer what aid we can be. We may know some Magog hunting tricks they don't"

going back over the data and the Intell reports about Celeste he knew she was likely to know a number of routes throught the nebula. James looking over the data.
If LOP was anywhere near a trade route he would have been disocvered already. So that left the back areas most of which the nebula coverd or was such to effect navigation.
The reports had it made seem that Celeste had made more than a few runs through the area.

So she would be best person to either take the JMT or one of scout crafts throught the area. Add in if there was a smugglers drift or planet in the area she would likely know about it.

EnTranced and Siobhan are missing and I can't wait any longer to start the search for LoP. Take command until one of them shows up. Alert the JMT that I am transfering my command to it. Get me a shuttle to the JMT as soon as we hear from the Marine squadron boarding the Wrath!

Graynes smiled to himself as Trancers started leaping to make his orders happen. First, he would need to get his flight staff together. At least James was already onboard. Now, if only Josh and Jid have survived the Magog attack. He needed both of them on the JMT with him.

All possible preautions in place, and the decission made, Perigryne nodded at Luna. The avatar returned the calm gaze for a second, then slowly closed her eyes, as one hand guided the jack home.

The universe itself seemed to hold it's breath for a timeless second, then all the displays sprang to life and Luna's hologram sprang into existance..."Captain, I am pleased to report that I have complete control of all three matrixies...The WayFarer is live again."... Luna's voice was triumphant..."Self repair modes fully engaged, estimated time for one hundred percent readiness...four hours."

"Thank you, Luna."...Perigryne toggled the all call switch..."As you may have noticed we are "live", people, and the WayFarer's self repair will take the burden off you. James walked in to the conferance room. Doug came in right behind him. James could sense Celeste tense up as the Trance came around and took a seat across frm her and used his tail to pour himslef a glass of water.

He looked over at Doung and while he was not happy with his XO's actions he knew Celest was going to have to deal with the fact some Trancers were part of the unit.

" He watched the Third and Fouth Squad leaders file in. they took their seats and James Dimmed the lights. He brought up the display. "The Korolov Nebula is the area we are gojng to being our search in.",he said working a couple of buttons. The display tightened in on a smaller section of the Nebula. This is the area where the battle took place in and near it you will see a couple of drift stations. Reports from agents there have no reports of LOP's ship comming out anywhere near thoses sections nor word about any craft like it being seen on the lines of travel near it. So I think it resonable to start checking into this area" The display blurred and sharped back into a area showing a lot of stellar gases and smaller rocks. It also had a a edgo a a small size four black hole. This would be the worse area to examine. "I choose for that reason if we find nothing there we have elimated the worse section to check and can then star a more efficent search." He looked the crowd over no real emtions were showing. "This brings us to you Celeste I have by reports that you have some expertese in dealing with the nebula and this area in general." he paused "You know the area could fill in information for uswe do not have. After a bit of training you could pilot this ship through some of the areas we might need to go. I know your ship might be better suited but if there is danger, and with us there usually is, I want a warship and it's defenses to back us up."

He turned up the lights and the display off."The general should be here in a couple of hours I will need recommenations and plans ready in that time. Celeste I will send you some handling specs on ths ship so you can simulate them for a bit of practise. Once we leave orbit I'll see what time I can arrange for you to get to get hands on experince between slips." He walked to the head of the table "That is all folks.", he said calling the meeting to a close

Celeste spent most of the meeting trying not to notice the excessive use of tails, mentally she shuddered....these people were going to take a lot of getting used to.

She studied the displays of the Korolov Nebula and smiled. It was true she had some scant knowledge of the area, she had found herself trapped there many years ago when she had been fleeing from an enraged bounty hunter, it was a place she had vowed never to return to...it looked like fate had other ideas!

As James wound up the meeting, Celeste shook her head

"Simulations, practice.....there's nothing like being thrown in at the deep end"

Several hours had passed since Graynes had left Command and finally his shuttle had entered the JMT's massive hanger deck. As the doors opened, he stepped onto the deck, enjoying the feel of a ship under his feet again. Maybe once they found LoP he would ask for a ship to command again.

Two ensigns stepped up to meet him and saluted. He returned the salute and nodded. One of the ensigns took his gear as the other motioned him towards the main lift.

Holo-Trance popped up in front of them on the lift as the doors closed.

Good to see you again General, it's been years since you were last onboard. I have your quarters ready. James has had his meeting with his teams and the ship is almost ready to depart.

SHe peeks behind Graynes, then frowns.

I thought maybe EnTranced was really here too. I miss him.

With a pout, she vanished.

Graynes smiled to himself, Holo-Trance had always made him smile.

OOC- After a long, long time without a last name, I've decided that it's only fitting that a Colonel of Trancer Infantry should have one... Anakam suggested "Delleray", and I said "sure!" So, for those keeping track, my character's name is "Colonel Jon Delleray". I hope I'm not violating some cardinal rule of RPing...

This is an Anakam/Jon joint. Be warned, it's a long one.

IC-

Jon moved in for another kiss when the intercom went off. "We can't even get a break when the ship is coming to pieces around us." He keyed his bracer. "Yes?"

"Colonel!" Lieutenant Clem's somewhat panicked voice returned. "Unable to launch any escape pods, sir.... the launch mechanisms are broken and I am unable to repair them."

Romilly's eyes flicked up to Jon. Our last, best hope, they said.

"Lieutenant, try bypassing them. If you can release the clamps and eject under thruster power, that'll get you clear just as surely as the ejection charges." Jon took a quick look at Romilly. "Commander Melaran and I will be there shortly." He unkeyed his bracer. "We need to get them away from this ship. Even if we have to get out and push."

"Acknowledged, sir." They heard Clem turn to someone else and issue a quick order for a second toolkit and two assistants. "I will report back to you as soon as I make any progress, sir. Clem out."

"Understood... ready to push." She smiled faintly as she drew her weapon and checked it.

Jon drew his forcelance and checked it only to find that he only had three shots left. He looked around and found a rifle that had been discarded on the deck. Upon checking it, he found that it had sufficient ammunition. "I don't think we'll run into too much resistance on this deck, but it never hurts to be prepared."

Romilly nodded swiftly at Jon and strode toward the exit. "It never does, Jon... and I dearly hope we won't need it."

Jon made no comment about the way his luck was running and moved to the hatch. "Ready?" Getting a nod in return, he brought his weapon to the ready and opened the hatch...

...only to find the corridor clear of Magog.

Romilly looked at Jon and smiled a little. "There's one potential ambush spot passed. Hopefully the others will be free as well, since they know we're here." She slipped past the hatch and eyed the corridor warily nevertheless.

"Yeah, but I'm hoping they're not on this deck. Let's go." They moved out together, each covering the other's back as they rapidly moved through the labyrinth of corridors. Around Section 15 they had to stop to shoot a lone Magog who was feasting on the body of a dead Trancer. "No respect for the rules of war. None whatsoever," the Colonel muttered to himself.

Romilly lay a hand on Jon's arm briefly as they moved on. "I know. But at least the Trancer was dead.... it would have been worse had we needed to shoot one of our own."

Jon stared at the scene with unbridled fury for a moment before squeezing Romilly's arm. He dropped his hand after a moment, turned crisply and continued toward the escape pods.

They finally turned a corner and came face to face with Lieutenant Clem barking orders to a small engineering crew. "Any luck, Lieutenant?"

Clem turned to the Colonel and saluted. "Some, sir." She gestured somewhat helplessly at the circuits the crew was working on. "The Magog attack left it in something of a mess, sir, but I should be able to get the pods away in five or ten minutes." She paused and frowned. "Unfortunately it's likely they'll have to be manually launched now."

"Very well, Lieutenant. Keep working on it." Romilly and Jon stood watching the repairs for a moment before a deep rumbling sound resonated through the ship. Jon looked at Romilly and exclaimed, "Now what?!"

Lieutenant Clem froze for a moment as she was returning to her work, looking up in fear. A sharp look from the Colonel returned her to her duties, though she still looked nervous.

Romilly tilted her head slightly to listen. After a few moments she looked back up at Jon. "It's a ship docking, Jon.... I can't tell what kind it is, though. My ears aren't quite that sharp." She smiled faintly at the ages-old Trancer joke.

"Oh, for the love of... Lieutenant! Keep working here! Commander Melaran and I will see what's going on!" They didn't hear the "Aye, sir!" as they raced down the corridor toward the portside docking port. They got there just as the rumble stopped. "Take cover. Cover the door but don't fire until you have an ID."

Romilly dropped down and propped her forcelance on one arm while aiming it with the other. She looked wearied and determined at the same time.... she and Jon could not really hold off another Magog swarmship if that was what it was... or even a less threatening enemy.

Something wasn't right, thought the Colonel... A swarmship doesn't *dock*, it punches holes in ships. His thought processes were halted by the hiss of the hatch seal giving way and the hydraulic whine of the door actuators opening. They looked up, and beheld what was quite possibly the most welcome sight either had in quite some time. Standing in the hatch was a young Trancer lieutenant wearing the uniform of a Marine.

"Coming out! Coming out!" The colonel slowly rose to his feet and looked at the Lieutenant. Romilly stood up with a sigh of relief as the Marine appeared. She holstered her forcelance and moved toward Jon, looking tremendously relieved. "You have no idea how glad we are to see you, son," said the Colonel.

The Marine whistled quickly and his men piled out from the hatch, assembling behind him. The lieutenant saluted briskly. "Kennard, 2nd Platoon, Charlie Company, 15th Trancer Marines, at your service, sir."

The Colonel returned the salute. "Delleray. I'm XO of this tub. Formerly 1st of the 506th Spacers. This is Lieutenant Commander Melaran, my Chief of Security. We've got Magog on just about every deck, and most of the crew is down. If you can get some of your heavy weapons in and clear us, we'd greatly appreciate it."

The lieutenant nodded. "Yes sir, we'll take care of it. Alright! 1st Squad with me! We'll take everything above this deck! 2nd Squad will clear everything below!"

"Lieutenant, we've got wounded and missing all over the ship, including her captain. We think he's in sickbay someplace. If you and your men would look out for them..."

"Yes, sir. Alright, you men! You heard the Colonel! Move out!"

OOC: And I'm back too. Enjoy.

Josh rested silently on his table, his eyes wide open and looking at nothing. A random passerby would probably take one look at him and pronounce him dead... but Josh was thinking to himself. He did that a lot.

"So, let's see," he said to himself. "My AI is trying to kill herself, I'm dying, my second-in-command is hopefully still alive and trying to save the ship and the Magog are everywhere. This is not one of my better days."

He laughed to himself and winced as his head exploded with pain. "Oh, and I have a headache too."

A sound at the other end of the room alerted him to activity and he forced himself to hide under the table, the doctor's scalpal in his right hand. His fingers tensed, he listened carefully.

"Sir, I don't think there's anyone in here."

"Well, keep looking! It's not the biggest ship in the world and there could be survivors."

"Survivors?" Josh mouthed to himself. Who were these people? Warily, he stayed underneath the table, every muscle in his body screaming for relief from the constant pain.

"Who is unaccounted for?" the first man asked, the sharp tip of his weapon stained red.

"Oh, lots of people," the second man replied. "We've counted most of the senior staff... but the captain is still missing. The Colonel told us he was injured and should be in sickbay. Do you see him? I don't."

That was enough for Josh. He stood up slowly and both weapons turned around to face him. "I'm the man you're looking for," he said.

"Let's see," the second man said. "A bloody mess, tired expression, looks like hell. Yup, this is the captain."

"Thanks," Josh said warily. "Now will you point those weapons somewhere else? Who are you guys anyway?"

"We are your rescuers," the first man replied. "The Marines."

Josh's eyes shone triumphantly. "About damn time," he said. "Although I'm afraid you're a little late. I'm dying."

"Great," the first man muttered. "Our commanding officer is going to have our heads."

The second man glared at the first officer. "Can I see the wound? I have a bit of experience in this kind of thing."

Josh shrugged and took off his shirt. "See for yourself," he said.

The man took one look at the wound and looked at Josh. "This is not a fatal wound," he pronounced.

Josh blinked. "Um, the doctor told me that I was dying."

"You mean this doctor," the first man said, pointing to the charred body over in the corner.

"Yeah," Josh said, a slight smile crossing his features. "He wasn't a very good doctor. He tried to kill me."

"So you believed you were dying from the word of a man who tried to kill you?"

Josh blinked. "Well, there were nurses also..."

"Who were also probably in league with the doctor," the second man said impatiently. "Look, this is all stuff that second-year cadets should be able to figure out."

"You're out of line, marine," Josh snapped. "I don't need to explain my reasoning to you." Ignoring the angry look from the man, he took a sidearm from the belt of the other marine. "In your 'professional' opinion, am I fit to walk?"

"Yes, sir, but..."

"Then let's get moving," Josh said. "I haven't felt this energized in hours. I need to save my ship."

As the Captain walked briskly out the door, the two men looked at each other. "He recovered quickly," one of them said.

"What are you waiting for?!" Josh called from the other side of the deck.

The two men shrugged and ran after him.

"Communications, have you gotten thru to General Graynes yet?"...Perigrine inquired, shifting minutely in her chair. Her chest ached and unconsciously she scrubbed the palm of her hand over the surgery site. Daveed gently caught her hand and held it comfortingly for a second. She had not heard him come up behind her, but that was not surprizing. For some one so tall and massively buile he couold move like a cat when he chose.

"No Ma'am. We have been advised that he is enroute to the JMT and that they will advise him of our inquiries, as soon as he is aboard."...The young Trancer let a trace of appology creep in to her tone. The Captain of the WayFarer was certainly not your average Nietzschen. In the long hours since the Trancer Lieutenant had come abard, all had been very polite to her, even the loaner Nietzscheans from the Archon's now departed fleet. The Captain had made sure that all had been relieved to eat and rest. She herself had not left the bridge since returning to it, despite the well hidden pain that every Trancer on the bridge sense.

Perigrine felt the jolt of a hyposprayer in her left shoulder and the swift somewhat shamedly welcomed relief of the strong painkilling cocktail. She let out a long breath she had not been aware of holding and looked up at her half brother with thanks and affection open on her face.

Graynes stepped onto the massive bridge of the JMT. His eyes scanned the stations and noted that most were occupied. An ensign stepped up to him and handed him a flexi. He nodded in dismissal and sat in the command chair to read the flexi.

Communication, contact the Wayfarerand ask their commander to meet me in the JMT's conference room in two hours. Also, as James to join us. His eye caught the report on Jid's message. Also, ask Jidimus to join us there.

I want this ship ready to depart orbit in twelve hours.

Graynes stood back up and left the bridge. He had to talk to the Captain brfore the meeting.

Rested and looking much the better for the hours nap Daveed had made sure she gotten, Perigrine stepped out of the [WayFarers's captain's gig. She wore tailored black slacks topped by a sleevless wrap top. Having finally been allowed to shower, her hair was a gleaming mass of heavy french braid that flowed down to her thighs. The black patch that covered her left eye gave her a rakish air.

Daveed followed, quiet as a shadow. He too had had a chance to shower and change. Like her his hair , ebon to her red-gold was in a thick french braid. The deep forest green of his similar outfit showed off his golden hued skin well, and the silver caduceus of his calling gleamed on his left shoulder. His long and thickly muscled tail swung gently to and fro as he looked about the spacious hanger bay with interest.

Both wore comm/comp bracers that wrapped around bonespurred forearms, and heavy HighGuard style force lances were holstered at their thighs.

The Trancer ensign that had been assigned to meet them and escort them to the JMT's confrence room, froze for a second. He had clearly not been expecting one of the party to be a nearly seven foot tall Tyrancer. Flushing slightly he saluted Perigrine...."Captain Omega if you will follow me, General Graynes and the others are expecting you."

Perigrines smile was gentle, as she returned the salute..."Certainly, Ensign Maires. I would not keep them waiting."

The ensign took them the most direct route to the JMT's confrence room, but Perigrine was able to get a feel for the ships design and she found it both aesthetically plesing and effeciently lethal. She nodded to herself, very pleased.

Then they were being ushered into a spacious, well appointed confrence room, and announced

"Perigrine Omega, Captain of the WayFarer and Daveed Arial Roth, Chief Medical Officer.

Jidimus landed the small ship expertly in the hangar of the JMT, and hopped out of it quickly, dressed in black combat pants with his tail tucked in, and a tight black shirt.

"Sir, General Graynes has asked you to join him in the conference room," a juniour officer said, greeting him.

Jid nodded an affirmative, and let the trancer lead him to the conference room.

Entering the room, he immediatly found and poured himself a cup of coffee, and sat down in a chair at the table, near where he assumbed the lower ranking officers would usually sit, and leaned back in the chair, regarding each of the people in attendance in turn, as if sizing them up, making a note of everything about them.
