James Morrison: Better known for playing Colonel Tyrus Cassius McQueen, commander of the 58th Squadron on the series Space: Above and Beyond He has a commanding screen prescence and always gives two thousand percent in any role he plays.

Female:

Nana Visitor: Colonel Kira Nerys on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine for many of the same reasons as James above, she is a sweetie in RL but accustomed to tough female leads.

Female: Alison Janney, tall, commanding and very witty.

Male: Rene Auberjonois. Talented, capable actor, previous experience in science-fiction, and absolutely no chance of "Odo in Space" being a problem. He could seriously carry this show.

Female: Lisa Ryder. Nuts to anyone else. If Dylan gets bumped off, Beka should advance to Captain of the Andromeda Ascendant. And she would *so* kick ass. Not in the "Herc in Space" sense either. (And I wouldn't mind seeing the Captain in bed so often. )

Glen Close for my choice as a female captain.

Or do these actors have to be white? If so, trade Sorbo over to Mutant X for John Shea for a male lead. Famke Janssen would be my choice for a female lead.

Male: Peter Wingfield. Excellent actor, and good with the physical aspects, too.

Female: Yancy Butler

M) Michael Ironside, loved him in Starship Troopers, he really suits command.

F) Laura Bertram, Trance is just so manipulative in an unsuspected way, so she should get it.

For a laugh:

M) Jerry Springer, can you imagine Command, Jerry Jerry...

F) Lucy Lawless, oh oh, I feel another crosover coming on.

Lisa's former co-star Geraint Wyn Davis would have made a good High Guard Captain.

Male: Lani John Tupu, only instead of doing a reprise of Bialar Crais, he gets to be the good guy.

Female: Lots of potential here. Catherine McClements (Det. Rachel Goldstein - Water Rats), Linda Cropper (Xhalax Sun - Farscape), or Toni Scanlan (Sgt. Helen Blakemore - Water Rats). Any of these would make a formidible captain.
