TV Land to the tune of Jungle Land by Bruce Springsteen.

The fans they had a wake up call on Slipstream just this month
As the Wolfe Man told the tale,
the screams were heard across the Canadian line
All that work lying at the feet of a suit
Who gives all signs of not having a brain
The Wolfe has danced his final dance
As master of a show that entranced
and disappeared down memory lane

Well the Tribune corp men cut down Andromeda
chasing the Wolfe from their corporate world
And the folks 'round here feel just like victims but not quiet, hey we're fans

From the Slipstream to the other sites we will make our voices heard
And we'll make a stand
down with TV Land.

The whole damn gang's assembled and picked a venue for this fight

They'll give corporate Tribune a great big sign that we just don't think it's right

There'll be a roar of protest from the real fans
There'll be petitions and cards to the big Man
Until the ones up top, think to stop, and try to do what's right
The show's alive as points are said and made
Cards are sent, they'll surely be seen
We say the words sharp switch-blades shouting down the corporate machine
The angry and the hurt ones explode into powerful fans
That stand tall they shout together to the suits: Down with TV Land.

In the virtual world reaction varies, anger, to tears to rage
But what they mostly feel is that the suits don't have a clue or they wouldn't make this change
Andromeda lovers struggle with the hard words

Desperate as the time moves on, all they want is for a smart show, not to be gone

{long sax solo}

Beneath the anger our hearts beat
Just hoping this won't be a show ender
in a boardroom locked
Suits whisper-will they refuse us or just surrender

It's no wonder that we're down
The Wolfe's own dream 'bout to drown
as suits clatter down their hallways in the light
And we watch it, as the great one walks away
Is this the end of something oh so right

So now we're all on fire, do we let this go
Can we stop it-is that fantasy
and as fans we fear
They'll hear nothing at all, they'll just stand back and let it all be

And when it's too late to fight they'll realize their moment
to make it right, is dead and gone, but they'll wind up cancelled, the fandom dead

So DOWN with TVLand

With apologies to springsteen and to orpheus. Sorry dude when the muse bites it bites.

Lil

You go, girl!

That one was worthy of the Boss.

Oh dear. Wow Obi. I...

well, Jungle Land is like one of my top five favorite songs ever. Glad you think I did it justice.

Thank you for this, Lil! I wasn't really familiar with this song before, but I got hold of a copy Sunday morning and spent an enjoyable half hour singing along.

Hey, true appreciation of great art demands effort and participation!

Of course, when I try to master Springsteen's phrasing and soulful intonation, it's less The Boss, and more "The whiny and demanding milquetoast in Accounting who will probably open fire with a semiautomatic someday". But that's hardly your fault.
