I looked for such a thread on this ep, and didn't find one, so if'n y'all don't mind, I'll start it. I gave this one an 8 .... but because of the ending and what we learned about Tyr and the Kodiak pride. The rest of the ep, by itself, would deserve much less, but the ending blew me away sufficiently to warrant an 8.

This turd of an episode is so colossal that it will condense under its own weight into a singularity, and then become the black hole of turds. 0. -Ogami |

Zero. God, it was horrible. |

I actually liked it. It's the first episode this year I felt like watching at least a few parts of more than once. I'd give it a 5. |

Well... I didn't think it was WORSE than MTBS, which I gave a 2. So I won't rate it lower. But it did hoover on a grand, universal scale. One or two things did stand out as enjoyable, but not enough to make it BETTER than MTBS. So it gets a big fat: 2. Morrhigan |

1 - and that's only for Lisa Ryder and the blessed consistency of her Beka. |

Lowering this to a two, most of which goes to Lisa for her perserverence in bad times. In other words. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT????????

2 The music was so bad that I hum it to myself endlessly in order to induce a large bout of laughter. And after all, everyone needs laughter, right? Hmmm...maybe I should give it one more point for giving the gift of hilarity... Nah. |

5 (very generous). I only liked one third of the eps this season thus far. I hope the eps will get better in the new year. |

A sucking empty void of ickiness that gets a 0 as in ZERO as in zilch, nada, nothing, nought from me. And that's being generous. |

Wow, I didn't think it was that bad, but wow, thats a lot of zero's. -1 for the sword toting Genite +1 for Beka, I thought she was great in this ep so gives me around a 6.5 |

0 is my rating. I usually always have something possitive to say no matter how crappy the episode. However this was dramatic overkill big times.

I shouldn't rate it until I can see it without interruptions, but from what I did see of it... and tending to be generous, though that's wearing out... About a 3. ...Having rewatched it in better conditions, I think a 3 is as high as I'll go. Tyr is lovely to watch, so those points are for him (and Beka, and Harper acting like her little brother, and ANDROMEDA getting a bit "This is too predictable!" cranky about her malfunctions), but Medea's attempts to act are so excruciating, she brings lots of the ep right down with her as she crashes and burns... -2 How I arrived at this score bears repeating: MY HIGH PRAISE goes to KEITH HAMILTON COBB for his professionalism in rising above crummy dialog, a rotten script, and a board as a partner -- and still delivering a very decent performance. I applaud you, sir. Had this ep truly been about Tyr and explored the depth and breadth of his character and his past .... you could have delivered a stellar performance. Instead you were handed tripe. However, you took the tripe and gave me something to feel decent about in this ep. My thanks! For your performance, I give 8 pts. Beka's small bit deserves another thanks - for rising above .. and I give 2 pts. That brings us to 10 out of 10. HOWEVER ..... For crummy dialog, a rotten script, unbelievable sloppiness in the ep (who was watching mr. villain anyhow?) ... and mostly for NOT knowing enough about Tyr and Nietzschean's as a whole to fill a thimble .... I grant a distinguished -12 (minus!). That gives this ep a -2 for me. It ranks just above Mad To Be Saved, which I downgraded to a -3 just to keep it at the bottom. *sigh* |

From ten- -1 for Desiree's flat character +2 for Beka (Lisa's acting is great as always despite this and that) =8 An okay episode, at least there weren't any (really) crazy people or video-game-like slipfighter scenes [This message has been edited by terraway (edited December 02, 2002).] |

3 I'd give it even lower, but gotta give credit to Beka and Harper for their consistently great acting. Tyr sucked--his dialogue was stilted and he acted like he didn't even believe himself. |

Oh goodness... I suppose I should keep with my Gene-ite review, though it was too generous.. My biggest gripes: Giant Dylan in Space (?!?!?!?!), Medea's "I'm a drama queen", and the pure cheese that was the battle with the "fortress moon" that wasn't smart enough to not leave its own post. So... 2.5. That's too nice. But I'll stick with that. |
