Everywhere I go on the Internet, I get attacked by ads. And I don't mean the nice ads we have here (*clicks away*) but horrible nasty ads that make you think your browser is having a heart attack.

The other week, at Zap2it, I was menaced by these black shapes that popped up all over my screen. Initially, I thought these were thunderstorm clouds, but later found out they were ghosts. Who would be advertising rain, anyway, except for God - and what does God need with a web site?

Mercifully, I thought I had escaped these until they reappeared at Sci-Fi Wire today! But at least these didn't crash my computer, unlike the hostile succession of glowing orange pop-ups that mauled my hard drive at the Apolyton Civilization 3 site. It's actually a really cool site, by the way, so if you're interested in the Civilization gaming series go there - just avoid the orange ads.
