Last month, we moved the site over to the new server, made possible in large part through the donations many of you provided. The original plan was to move the forum software to UBBThreads just a week later, but unfortunately that turned out to be a bit harder - the software needed extensive hacking in order to resemble our current board, to preserve many of the extra features we have, and to preserve the lounges.

I spent a lot of my time over the past month working on those hacks, and until this weekend was thinking everything would be ready by next weekend.

Unfortunately, on Friday InfoPop released a new version of UBBThreads, beta version 6. It looks like version 6 is quite an improvement over version 5 - for one thing, it allows board admins to use templates for all the HTML, making it easy to customise the board's look. Of course, this also means that all my HTML hacks are now obsolete, and I'll have to start over again in customising the board's look. The good news is that at least with these templates, it'll go faster than the first time around, but it's still going to cause a bit of a delay.

I looked at version 6 for a bit today, but probably won't start work on that again until next week or so - it's going to take a bit of time to drum up the motivation for that after just losing much of my previous work. Waiting a week with hacking also means I'll be able to get back to posting a bit more on the board, something I haven't been able to do over the past month or so.

Hopefully the new board will be ready in a few weeks or so, but with this recent experience in mind, it's probably best not to make any definite promises. Thanks for your patience.
