I know this may seem like the weekend of unpopular decisions, but starting a week from now, it will be necessary to be registered here at the Slipstream BBS if you want to start a new thread. It will still be possible (for the time being) to post replies in threads if you haven't registered, but to post new topics you will need to register. The reason we decided this was so we could more effectively work against spammers/trolls/etc. In addition, we'll soon be instituting a rule against double usernames, the reason being that with single usernames it is more easy to keep track for us of who-is-who, and also so the system isn't bogged down by having too many member files to plough through. At the Trek BBS, we've had a lot of bad experiences with people registering multiple usernames, and as this BBS is rapidly growing very large as well we unfortunately have to take this action. And finally, we'll be accepting new registrations again starting tomorrow. |
