Due to some unfortunate circumstances the Slipstream administration has found it necessary to remove FMD from his position as moderator of the Miscellaneous forum. This is not a move we take lightly, nor was it done without a great deal of consideration. The position of moderator on this board is a symbol of trust. It signifies the fact that the administration has trust in an individual to abide by and enforce the Slipstream rules and look out for the best interests of the board and its members at all times. It sends out a message to members that an individual is a pillar of our community who they can look up to and trust. After certain facts came to light over the past few days, we felt that it would be impossible for FMD to continue as moderator. Because this is such a unique action that carries with it a great deal of resonance, we feel that this action should be an adequate punishment. We hope that the members of the Slipstream BBS will agree with us, and not pursue FMD on the board. We do not intend to pursue other board members involved in the events surrounding this action, as we feel that as the instigator and very public face of these recent actions, FMD carries the sole responsibility for his action. We will not be making further comment on the events that lead to this action being necessary. We feel that it is for those involved to explain matters to the community here, if they wish to do so. --- The Slipstream BBS Administration |
