A Statement and a 24 Hour Ban Issued to FMD
      2002/06/07 12:16 AM

After an investigation, the Slipstream BBS administration has ascertained that FMD and ECAKAGJ are in use by the same individual.

We were able to discover this from email headers on material they both sent out which indicated that emails sent by both users were from the same computer and internet service provider. Secondary evidence came from the fact that ECAKAGJ's email address takes it's name from one of FMD's former role playing characters.

The Slipstream BBS administration does not take manipulation of its members lightly. We feel that FMD has acted callously and shown a blatant disregard for the Slipstream BBS community. Twice.

On discovering the first incidence, we took the very difficult step of removing FMD from his position as moderator. We felt that he had abused the trust of all members of the Slipstream BBS and could no longer hold a position of responsibility here. We hoped that the publicity surrounding this would make FMD realise how wrong his actions were. We regret that this clearly was not the case.

As of now, the ECAKAGJ user name has been locked. It receives one warning for trolling in line with BBS policy. As this member account belonged to FMD, this warning passes to his main BBS account. FMD receives one warning for violating the BBS rules on multiple user accounts, since his second account was clearly intended to harm the BBS. As a result, FMD has been banned for a period of 24 hours.

Manipulative behaviour towards the community such as that displayed by FMD will not be tolerated on the Slipstream BBS.

We thank you for your support in this matter.
