When was the Maru repaired? terraway Pyrian In the premier trailers, the Maru was looking as good as new. But in TATEOTL, it was a mess! When was it repaired? Starlock Purple Pixie ^Never underestimate the speed at which Rommie can manufacture replacement parts and perform repairs... She has the entire schematic of the Maru in her memory and she probably began repairs the second the ship landed. terraway Pyrian Oh, I see, so she depoyed a team of super repair bots TJBombard Magog She probably used the ships repair nanobots to repair the Maru... at least that is my thought... terraway Pyrian I see, it still doesn't make much sense, especially since Andromeda stayed messy for at least 3 weeks after TWG tennyson Vedran The Andromeda is also more than tens times the mass and ten times the length with a correspondingly larger volume. The hull damage and most of the damage had been repaired by the time of Exit Staregies, 2 weeks later. All the major reapairs had been done and it was only the removal of thousands of Magog bodies that slowed things down considerably. As for the Maru, she could still fly on autopliot so her electronics hadn't been compromised and the damage, outside of the loss of a chunk of hull not vital for structural bracing was superficial. Burn marks from some abliation of the hull by the plasma wave, maybe a loss of external transmitters. All they would need to do was quickly machine a replacement piece of hull and nanoweld in into place, replace the melted antennae and then run a through systems check to see if everything still worked and then they could launch. Unless the time postulated for repairs was something silly like five minutes the Maru could be back in action pretty quickly. Orpheus Nietzschean I think that the key word is "mess". It looked pretty messy (probably mostly the results of a single moderate impact, sufficient to bow out the cockpit 'canopy) and the subsequent explosive decompression) and there were visible 'flames' on landing (possibly venting and plasma from the designed-in vaporization of ablative armor), but it was little damaged, functionally. A few non-essential braces or pipes fell (who knows how sturdy those were in the first place) but the Maru was sufficiently undamaged that it returned to the Andromeda. It might not have taken more than a couple of Marias with nanowelders to tidy things up. Time (and priority) factors still make this a bit problematic, but hey, what can I say?
